Artisan Nocino of Modena - "Reserve"

A typical liqueur from the Modena hills, produced according to a traditional recipe. Nocino is produced from the hulls of walnuts that are harvested on the night of St. John's Day, 24 June, which, according to ancient tradition, that special night gives the walnuts excellent beneficial virtues. The walnut husk that is obtained is then infused with alcohol for a long period, at the end of which this highly prized 'Riserva' nocino remains for a further 5 years in oak barrels, thus being able to develop the maximum perfume and body.

The I Rodi farm, which also supplies our delicious jams and marmalades made from wild berries, is located in the heart of the Modenese Apennines, between Sestola and Fanano. The walnuts are harvested in the walnut groves in the high Apennine mountains. The result is an entirely artisanal product, as you can taste in the families that have been making nocino for generations. Nothing to do with commercially available nocino.

An excellent liqueur for the end of a meal, to be served cold or at room temperature. A true delicacy for the palate.
