Italian "Lemon" Honey

In our selected honeys, Lemon honey could certainly not be missing; exclusively produced in the land of citrus groves, Sicily. The honey extraction period is April; just one month to obtain a unique niche product. A fine honey with numerous beneficial properties, with a high content of vitamin C and other vitamins useful for healthy bones and tendons. It also has a large amount of minerals and sugars such as potassium, phosphorus, calcium and fructose. Just one teaspoon possesses remarkable digestive, anti-inflammatory and stress-relieving abilities.

Apicoltura Manfredini was established back in 1922 thanks to Pio Manfredini, a true pioneer in artisanal honey production and processing techniques. The family history continues from generation to generation, handing down secrets and passions; refining more and more totally artisanal processing techniques. Respect for bees and the land are the fundamental cornerstone of their production. The honey is processed using traditional techniques that respect the physical, chemical and organoleptic characteristics of the product as much as possible. Such a reality certainly could not be missing among the most prized products of Emilia-Romagna.

Characteristics

Lemon honey is an intense straw-yellow colour, has a very characteristic aroma with notes of jasmine and orange blossom and a floral, fruity, sweet flavour with citrus notes.

Pairings

Lemon Honey is an excellent product enjoyed on its own as a natural energiser for breakfast, a snack or a tasty end to a meal. Perfect in combination with both soft and mature cheeses, such as Parmigiano Reggiano Vacche Rosse. Recognised as a perfect natural sweetener in herbal teas, it can also be combined with fresh fruit, dried fruit, biscuits and cakes.
