Plain Honey "Honeydew"
Plain honeydew honey is a unique and distinctive product, obtained not from flower nectar, but from the sap elaborated by plants and transformed by specific insects, such as scale insects and aphids. Collected in the Emilian plains, it is distinguished by its dark color, which varies from intense brown to almost black, and by its dense and viscous consistency. Its flavor is less sweet than traditional honeys, with aromatic, malty and slightly caramelized notes.
A honey with a robust character, appreciated for its high mineral content and its beneficial properties, ideal for those looking for an authentic and nutritious product.
The Tullapi Artisan Farm, located in Castenaso, a few kilometers from Bologna, represents excellence in the production of 100% Italian honey. Immersed in the Emilian plain, a fertile and lush territory, the company uses natural and artisanal methods to guarantee an authentic and high-quality product.
The area, characterized by a perfect balance between nature and agricultural tradition, offers an ideal habitat for biodiversity and for bees, which collect nectar from lime trees, acacias and other local flowers. This respectful approach to the environment and seasonality allows Tullapi to produce honeys with a unique flavor, which contain all the richness of the Emilian land.
A company that combines passion, respect for nature and deep roots in the territory, offering a honey that celebrates the authenticity of Made in Italy.
Characteristics Rich in mineral salts, antioxidants and energizing properties, honeydew honey has a complex and aromatic flavor, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Its consistency is particularly dense, and rarely crystallizes, maintaining a fluid and uniform texture for a long time. It is perfect for those looking for a less sweet alternative to floral honeys.
Pairings Excellent when paired with aged cheeses such as pecorino, Parmigiano Reggiano or provolone, it enhances the flavour of savoury dishes, such as grilled meats or roasted vegetables. It is ideal for sweetening herbal teas and hot drinks without altering their aroma, and is a good ingredient for black bread, cereals and yoghurt, adding a touch of rich and natural flavour.
