Organic Mountain Raspberry Compote

Certified Organic Raspberry Compote. Absolutely no added sugar, containing only the natural sugars of the fruit, enriched with delicious grape juice. It is made using only fruit from the Modenese Apennines between the territories of Sestola and Fanano. This is where the raspberries are grown, picked and processed. A small artisanal production for unequalled excellence.

The difference with Extra Jam is its lower density and the complete absence of added sugar.

For the products based on wild blueberry typical of the Modena Apennines and other wild berries we have selected a symbolic reality of our territory, namely the i Rodi farm. A family-run business located in Fanano on the Apennines in the province of Modena. In this place everything happens: the cultivation, harvesting and processing of the fruits of the territory, between green meadows and chestnut woods. As it is obvious that for a reality of this type, all the cultivation of fruits is organic and the production cycle has almost zero impact on the environment. The Blueberry is wild, therefore it is harvested only in the woods and is not cultivated, while blackberries, red currant, black currant, strawberries and raspberries are both harvested and cultivated. Everything is worked in a small artisan workshop on the site which gives rise to a small production of the highest excellence. The Azienda Agricola i Rodi, is one of the very few excellences that boasts the mark of the Modena Chamber of Commerce for products based on wild blueberry of the Modenese Apennines, which assures us of the certified origin, its characteristics and unparalleled peculiarities.

Characteristics

The Modena Raspberry Compote is characterised by an intense, bright ruby red colour and a medium-dense consistency. The scent and taste are the unmistakable ones of mountain raspberries, a flavour that has nothing to do with those from the plains or from abroad. A sweet hint with slightly sour final notes that characterises all the preserves and jams from Azienda Agricola i Rodi, which perfectly complements any palate, even those that do not usually like sweet.

As there is no added sugar, it is perfect for low-calorie diets or for those who are intolerant to sugar.

Pairings

Perfect to spread on top of wholemeal, white and toasted bread. Excellent as a sweet filling for Tigelle, Piadina Romagnola PGI and gnocco fritto. It reaches maximum flavour with medium-aged and mature cheeses such as 24- to 36-month Parmigiano Reggiano PDO or soft cheeses such as Squacquerone di Romagna PDO and ricotta.
