"Wildflower" Mountain Honey

Apicoltura Manfredini is located in Pavullo nel Frignano in the centre of the Modenese Apennines where the wholesomeness and genuineness of the area is synonymous with a product that is more unique than rare. The quality of the honey depends greatly on the climatic and environmental characteristics that surround it, in fact in this place we find an area free of air, noise and light pollution. Far from cities and towns, we ensure the bees their natural habitat so that they can operate impeccably.

Apicoltura Manfredini was established back in 1922 thanks to Pio Manfredini, a true pioneer in artisanal honey production and processing techniques. The family history continues from generation to generation, handing down secrets and passions; refining more and more totally artisanal processing techniques. Respect for bees and the land are the fundamental cornerstone of their production. The honey is processed using traditional techniques that respect the physical characteristics as much as possible.

Characteristics

Its colour, fragrance and flavour depend on the amount of nectar present per type of flowers chosen and the season of production. Mountain honey is amber-coloured, usually more intense than lowland wildflower honey due to the presence of chestnut flowers that make it slightly darker and more fragrant. The flavour is full, sweet and sugary. The aroma is complex and diversified.

Pairings

Wildflower honey is an excellent natural sweetener for herbal teas, infusions and hot milk. Wonderful spread on a slice of bread, possibly wholemeal, for healthy, wholesome and extremely energetic breakfasts and snacks. Perfect paired with fresh and medium-aged cheeses such as our 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano.
