Sweet cocoa "Rocca dei Guidi" - Coffee

The Mandorlato di Modigliana with chocolate is a historic sweet from Modigliana, which originated in the 19th century; its fame and diffusion took place at the beginning of the 20th century, when, from 1906 to 1910, it received 5 very important national and international awards. Tradition has it that there are no written recipes of this cake, but its creation is handed down only orally from generation to generation.

In 2010, Modigliana Chocolate Almond received the PAT (Traditional Food Product) award.

Characteristics

It has an upper layer of brown and an inner layer of dark brown color tending to black filled with almonds; ensures an intense taste, aromatic coffee and "chocolaty", remaining rather delicate.

Pairings

We recommend to taste the delicious Chocolate Modigliana Almond at the end of the meal, after leaving it for a few minutes at room temperature, accompanied by sweet wines, rum, wiskey, peat grappa or cognac.
