The recipe of Chocolate Modigliana Almond, which is inspired by this cake, originates in the '800 and its recipe is handed down only orally to make it truly unique and inimitable by anyone.
In this variety of chocolate and almonds is combined with apricot, to infuse a fresh, sparkling and fruity taste that goes perfectly with the aroma of cocoa.
It mainly contains cocoa powder, almonds, candied orange peel and a mixture of spices expertly balanced with each other.
This excellence is prepared strictly by hand, one by one, as once and then the desserts are vacuum packed to keep intact its tastes and scents to taste it as just done.
The Mandorlato di Modigliana with chocolate is a historic sweet from Modigliana, which originated in the 19th century; its fame and diffusion took place at the beginning of the 20th century, when, from 1906 to 1910, it received 5 very important national and international awards. Tradition has it that there are no written recipes of this cake, but its creation is handed down only orally from generation to generation.
In 2010, Modigliana Chocolate Almond received the PAT (Traditional Food Product) award.
Characteristics
It has an upper layer of brown and an inner layer of dark brown color tending to black filled with almonds; ensures an intense taste, aromatic apricot and "chocolaty", remaining rather delicate.
