Montasio Dop Fresco

A proud, DOP-certified cow's milk cheese hailing from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The 'Fresco' version is carefully aged for a minimum of 2 months, yielding a semi-soft, smooth paste with tiny, regular eyelets. It delivers a wonderfully creamy, mild, and harmonious flavor that perfectly reflects its pristine alpine origins.

Montasio Fresco is the quintessential ingredient for making 'Frico', a traditional, crispy, pan-fried cheese and potato dish from Friuli. It is also excellent sliced simply with rustic bread and mild salami. Pair it with a local, crisp white wine such as Friulano or a bright Sauvignon Blanc.
